Yuma Police Have One In Custody Following Alleged Car Theft

The Yuma Police Department says one person is in custody following the alleged theft of a vehicle. Police say they received word of the stolen Honda Civic on Thursday morning. The initial investigation revealed a passenger in the car was dropped off near the victim’s residence. The suspect then entered the Chevrolet Tahoe in the 100 block of West 22nd Place. The suspects were later located at the El Rancho Motel. 38-year-old Jose Carrasco was arrested. A second person, 23-year-old Luis Arellano was questioned and released pending a long form complaint for unlawful use of a means of transportation. A third unidentified subject was detained and then later released. Carrasco is charged with Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and on two Misdemeanor Warrants.
