The United Way of Yuma County kicked off their 2013 “Live United For Yuma County” campaign on Wednesday (16) by holding a press conference. United Way of Yuma County president Madeleine Coil told KBLU News that many services rely on them to be able to obtain funding.
Last year, United Way of Yuma County raised about $350,000. The goal this year to is to raise a $500,000.
Numbers show that about 37,000 Yuma County residents are without health insurance and unemployment right now sits at about 30-percent.
