The Yuma County Sherriff’s Office says 25-year-old Jose Ramirez, 26-year-old Jose Marquez and 21-year-old Rudy Natal were in a vehicle in the early morning hours of October 23rd 2009, when the driver – identified as Ramirez – lost control of the vehicle, colliding with a brick wall. Natal was inside the vehicle and was ejected and died at the scene of the accident.
The two remaining men decided to make a false statement to police, saying the driver was Natal and not Ramirez. Following another interview on Tuesday, both the surviving persons admitted to police they concocted the story and had lied to investigators.
Ramirez is charged with Second Degree Murder, Endangerment and Tampering With A Witness. Marquez was charged with Second Degree Murder and Hindering an Investigation.
