Two Men Arrested After Attempted Armed Robbery

Yuma, AZ — 12-2-2012  0808 hours:  Officers from the Yuma Police Department were dispatched to the McDonalds Restaurant at 2560 S. 4th Avenue for a report of an armed robbery involving a knife.

Investigation revealed two men, one armed with a knife, threatened the victim and demanded money.  The victim was able to escape and notify others to call the police.

Officers arrived quickly and located two subjects nearby who matched the description of the assailants.  Joaquin Flores (age 26, of Yuma) and Edward Stephen Nunez (age 28, of Yuma) were subsequently arrested and booked into the Yuma County Detention Center for armed robbery as well as other charges.
