Sex Offender Arrested

The U.S. Marshall’s Service arrested a convicted sex offender as he was working in the United States. 

29-year-old Michael Anthony Martinez was arrested Tuesday (8) night at the Lukeville Port of Entry on charges of Parole Violation.  Authorities say Martinez was convicted over 12 years ago for attempted child molestation and attempted sexual conduct with a minor in Maricopa County.  After serving ten years in prison, Martinez lived in Utah, but failed to register as a sex offender there. 

He was arrested and served a 14-month sentence in Arizona.  However he allegedly had contact with a minor and then fled to Mexico.
