Search And Rescue Team Electrocuted After Moving Equipment Near Powerlines

The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office says one person is in stable condition after he suffered a possible electrocution. Police say the incident occurred early Tuesday morning at a radio communication antenna on top of Telegraph Pass, east of Yuma. As members of the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue Team were setting up the antenna, they discovered that power lines were located nearby and then tried to move the antenna. However, the antenna made contact with electric wires, causing the crew to be electrocuted. Jim Bush of Yuma was transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center to be treated for moderate burns on his hand and lower leg. He remains in stable condition. Dennis Knight of Yuma refused medical attention.
