Schools Put On Lockdown

Several schools went under lockdown Monday morning after someone reported a man carrying what they thought was a weapon. The Yuma Police Department says that a male walked into the cafeteria at Roosevelt Elementary School possibly with a gun in his waistband. Police began an immediate search of the school and placed Fourth Avenue Junior High School, Roosevelt Elementary School, Yuma High School and Carver Elementary School under lockdown holding all students in a central location. The subject was found and the so called weapon was identified as a cell phone.
The lockdowns were lifted within an hour.
