The quick thinking of an older sister helped to foil an attempted kidnapping. The Yuma County Sheriff’s Department says the incident occurred on Monday (7) evening after a male approached the two girls, aged 17 and six, at a bus stop near the corner of May Avenue and Eighth Street and attempted to kidnap the younger sibling.
The 17-year-old hit the suspect in the face and was able to regain control of her younger sister.
The suspect is described as a white male in his mid 20s to early 30s, with blond hair, blue eyes standing from between 5’10” to 6’ tall and weighing from between 175 and 200 pounds. He also has a tattoo of a bird or bat on his left arm.
Anyone with information on the supposed attacker is urged to contact the Yuma County Sheriff’s Department at 928-783-4427 or your nearest local law enforcement agency.
