Police Respond To Shots Fired During Home Invasion

Two persons are in police custody following an alleged shooting Sunday (20) morning.  The Yuma County Sheriff's Department says they received the report of the shooting on East 15th Street. 

Police were investigating another fight nearby, when they heard shots fired.  Police went into investigate and found the victim with a handgun.  The victim told police he found the two suspects inside his residence.  The victim ran the suspects – identified as 26-year-old Rigoberto Quirga and 28-year-old Jesus Arbizo, both of Yuma – out of his residence. 

Police have determined the shots came from the victim’s weapon which he used trying to scare the suspects away.  Both Quirga and Arbizo are in custody in the Yuma County Jail on charges of Criminal Trespassing and Burglary.
