A local Geriatric Specialist and Medical Director of Hospice Compassus of Yuma has been certified in Hospice and Palliative Care. Wissam A. Fayad has received the degree.
Fayad’s Hospice and Palliative Care certification is representative of Hospice Compassus’s successful initiative to encourage all of its physicians to become sub-specialty board certified by the AAHPM.
The field of hospice and palliative medicine was recognized as a specialty practice in 2006 and certification is awarded to physicians with experience in the field and who pass a comprehensive AAHPM board exam.
