Matadors Top Mesa College To Advance In Playoffs

The Arizona Western College Matadors advanced in the playoffs with a big win Thursday against Mesa College, 74-to-67. 

The game was tied at 17 early on, until the Matadors broke it wide open with a ten-nothing run.  The Matadors went on another eleven-point run in the second half as well.  Marvin Whitt led all scorers with 21 points. 

The Matadors take on 13^th ranked Central Arizona on Saturday.  Tip-off is set for 7:30pm and the game can be heard live on NewsTalk 560, KBLU.
