Man Arrested After Fleeing From Police During Traffic Stop

The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office says one person is in custody after he allegedly tried to get away from police during a traffic stop. 

Police say 32-year-old Charles Bay fled from the Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Task Force on Tuesday night.  His vehicle was found abandoned nearby on Sixth Avenue. 

Following a search of the area, Bay was found hiding in a nearby residence on Sixth Avenue.  The homeowner told police he was threatened to open the home to Bay and to keep quiet.  Bay was found in a locked bathroom. 

Bay is currently being held on a $100,000 bond.
