Governor Brewer To Announce New Sales Tax Plan

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer is expected to announce details of her proposal for a comprehensive simplification of the Arizona's sales tax collection system at a press conference later today. 

Brewer says the current system has so many twists and turns it is extremely difficult for businesses to pay what they owe.  She adds that business owners serving multiple cities must file multiple tax returns and undergo multiple audits.

She wants a system that has just one form and one filing per business. 

Brewer plans to announce the introduction of legislation designed to implement her plan.
