Former Border Patrol Agents Face Two Years In Prison

Two former agents will now spend two years in prison for a crime committed five years ago in the Tucson area. In 2008, 25-year old Dario Castillo from Yuma and 31-year old Ramon Zuniga from San Luis tracked four people carrying marijuana. According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, Zuniga shoved a bag of marijuana into a suspected drug smuggler's mouth yelling in Spanish for him to eat it.
The U.S. Attorney's Office says they then ordered the victims to run away, leaving them to spend the night in the desert with only a single layer of clothing. The attempted drug smugglers were rescued the next morning by a Tribal Police Officer.
