Cyclist Injured In Vehicle Collision

A man riding a bicycle in the foothills sustained serious injuries after he was hit by a car.  The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office says 74-year-old Francis Alexander Johnston of British Columbia, Canada was riding a bicycle at Fortuna Road and 28^th Street on Tuesday when he was hit by a vehicle, driven by 26-year-old Roxana Martinez of Yuma. 

Police say Johnston was wearing a helmet.  Johnston was airlifted to an out of town hospital. 

The accident is under investigation, but police say alcohol does not factor into the incident.
