Border Patrol Apprehends Drug Smugglers Near Gila Bend

United States Border Patrol agents from the Yuma Sector arrested three drug smugglers southeast of Gila Bend Tuesday.  Using night vision equipment, agents spotted a group of backpackers walking through the open desert.  As agents approached, the group attempted to hide under a tree.  Agents apprehended the group, all Mexican nationals, and recovered 243 pounds of marijuana they were carrying. ...
