Yuma, AZ — On Saturday, November 17, 2012 at approximately 1:10 am, the Yuma Police Department responded to the 2500 block W. 24th Street in reference to an armed robbery.
The initial investigation revealed Heriberto SILVA, a cab driver for Buchanan’s Transportation, picked up an unknown Hispanic male in the area of the 2900 S. Pacific Avenue. SILVA then drove the subject to the 2500 Block W. 24th Street.
Upon arrival, the subject exited the cab and displayed a black handgun to SILVA and demanded money. The subject then struck SILVA in the face with the handgun and fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The suspect described as approximately 5’8”, thin build, short hair, last seen wearing a blue shirt has not been located. SILVA sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to YRMC.
