Two fleshly brothers accused in the alleged robbery last month of an area bank, made their first appearance in court on Wednesday (2). 25-year-old Jesus Alaniz and 21-year-old Nestor Alaniz allegedly were involved in the armed robbery of Wells Fargo Bank located on Catalina Drive in Yuma.
Police say one of the men entered the bank on December 27th, 2012 and demanded money from a teller. Police found Jesus Alaniz following a foot chase which ended near Palmcroft Elementary School. Jesus says his brother was not involved in the incident, however police believe Nestor Alaniz drove his brother to the bank and was to drive the car following the robbery.
Jesus Alaniz is also wanted on theft charges from another case. Both suspects are expected back in court next week.
