Police say a suspect involved in an alleged bank robbery last month is now behind bars.
39-year-old Christopher Montiel of Maricopa was arrested on other charges, not stemming from the robbery of Mohave State Bank on South Fourth Avenue in Yuma on December 11th, 2012. Montiel admitted to the robbery during an interview with police Thursday (3). Montiel walked into the Mohave State Bank, handing a note to a teller demanding money. Montiel did not show a weapon and left the bank without money, fleeing the area in a vehicle.
Montiel is in custody in the Pinal County Detention Center awaiting transfer to Yuma County.
