AZ Gas Prices Down Slightly

Gas prices have slightly dropped over the last week in Arizona.  Motorists are paying $3.04 a gallon according to AAA, a little under a penny per gallon less than last week.  The nationwide average is $3.31 a gallon, an increase of two-cents a gallon. Read More »

Bond Set For Man Accused Of Shooting Phoenix Police Officer


Bond was set Thursday (10) at $1 million for a convicted felon who's accused of shooting and wounding a Phoenix police officer.  28-year-old Brandon McCabe is being held on suspicion of attempted first-degree murder, misconduct involving weapons, criminal trespassing and resisting arrest.  McCabe allegedly shot Phoenix policeman 36-year-old Peter "Chris" Bennett six times last Sunday night. Yuma Alcatraz Exhibit To Open Saturday

Major Changes For Southgate Mall

Yuma Police Search For Armed Robbery Suspect


The Yuma Police Department is investigating what appears to be an armed robbery, which occurred on Wednesday (9) morning.  Police say an unidentified Hispanic male accosted the victim near the corner of Madison Avenue and First Street.  The victim described the perpetrator in his mid 20’s, standing 5’7” and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and dark colored pants.  He had ... Wellton Police Recover Stolen Furniture


Several thousand dollars worth of stolen furniture has been recovered by the Wellton Police Department.  The items were found Wednesday (9) during a search by police of an apartment on South Eighth Avenue in Yuma.  The items were reported stolen last week from two homes in Wellton.  Police are still conducting their investigation to identify the suspects involved. Tucson Busiest Sector For Border Patrol

New reports suggest that of all of Arizona’s borders with Mexico, the U.S. Border Patrol busiest sector is the Tucson sector.  The review shows that there has been a 6% dip in apprehensions in the 3-year period from between 2008 and 2011.  38% of all drug seizures and 37% off all apprehensions statewide occur in the Tucson Sector. Sex Offender Arrested

The U.S. Marshall’s Service arrested a convicted sex offender as he was working in the United States.  29-year-old Michael Anthony Martinez was arrested Tuesday (8) night at the Lukeville Port of Entry on charges of Parole Violation.  Authorities say Martinez was convicted over 12 years ago for attempted child molestation and attempted sexual conduct with a minor in Maricopa County.  ...
