On Thursday November 8, 2012 at about 7:54 am Police responded to a call of attempted child abduction in the 2000 Block of South Avenue A.
The investigation revealed at about 7:35 am the victim a 12 year old male was walking to school when a male subject came up from behind, called to him and then grabbed him. The victim fought and was able to escape. The victim ran to the Circle K at 2089 S. Avenue A. The suspect was seen leaving the area. The victim’s family was notified and a short time later they called police. The victim received minor injuries.
The Yuma Police Department urges the public to be vigilant and report suspicious persons matching the description below.
- White male
- young adult
- Approximately 6’1” and 210 lbs
- Short Brown hair & Brown eyes
- A tattoo and or scar on his face.
- Last seen wearing a long sleeve black shirt, and black shorts, and red and white shoes.
UPDATE: The suspect has a five-pointed star tattoo on his right jawline and he has a scar by his left cheek.
