Several Yuma residents called police, reporting they heard a loud bang or explosion Saturday in the 800 block of West First Street. Joe Franklin with the Yuma Police Department says they contacted additional help.
The explosion turned out to be a freon can left inside a car. The aerosol can exploded from the heat with enough force to blow out the rear windshield of the car.
No injuries were reported from the blast. Police urge the public to remember that storing aerosol cans inside cars or other warm places can be very dangerous.
