The Yuma Police Department, in cooperation with the City of Yuma and Parks & Recreation, will host the third annual Polar Plunge at the Valley Aquatics Center on Saturday. This year’s theme is “Halloween in March”.
Yuma Police Chief John Lekan and Deputy Chief Susan Otero will take the plunge to help raise money for Special Olympics Arizona.
Each plunger must raise a "bear" minimum of 25-dollars in order to take the plunge. All participants will receive a commemorative 2013 Polar Plunge t-shirt. Registration begins at 9am. All payments are tax-deductible and go towards Special Olympics Arizona.
Prizes will be awarded to individuals and teams raising the most money and to those plunging in the best costumes.
